Calistoga City Council Cancels Election, Appoints Three Candidates

The Calistoga City Council voted Aug. 19 to cancel the Nov. 3 municipal election and appoint three unopposed candidates. Kevin Eisenberg will serve as mayor, Scott Cooper will begin a second council term, and Lana Richardson will join the council. The decision is expected to save the City between $35,000 and $60,000 in election costs.

PG&E Utility Bill Assistance Available for Eligible Customers

PG&E is encouraging customers with past-due energy bills to explore available financial assistance programs. Eligible customers may qualify for up to $1,000 through the Match My Payment Program, with additional assistance available through REACH and other income-based programs. Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Emergency & Community Notifications

The Calistoga Police Department participates in Alert Napa County, a free emergency notification system that helps keep residents informed about situations that may affect their health, safety, or community.

Through Alert Napa County, public safety agencies, including the Napa County Office of Emergency Services, law enforcement, and fire departments, can send important information and updates directly to subscribers. Notifications may include severe weather, road closures, missing persons, evacuations, natural disasters, public health concerns, and other emergencies. Residents can also sign up to receive non-emergency community alerts.

Alert Napa County uses Everbridge, a notification platform, to deliver these messages. Residents register for alerts through Alert Napa County, but notifications may appear as coming from Everbridge or Everbridge Community. Both are part of the same notification system.

Subscribers can choose how they receive alerts, including by phone call, text message, or email, and can register multiple contact methods to help ensure they receive important information.
