Potential Public Safety Power Shutoff Weather

This is an early notification for possible Public Safety Power Shutoff.   

To help prevent wildfire, PG&E is monitoring weather conditions for a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff May 17-19.

Counties under Elevated status: Some parts of the following counties may be affected:  Colusa, Glenn, Lake, Napa, Sonoma, Tehama, Yolo. 

Specific addresses, maps, and shutoff details are typically available 2 days before shutoff.  Get notifications for your addressResidents can also check whether their area is supported by backup power by viewing PG&E’s microgrid map(PDF, 362KB) .

PG&E meteorology is closely monitoring a potential offshore wind event Sunday and Monday with gusty winds and low humidity leading to elevated fire potential across the North. Fair and dry conditions can be expected across the territory today and tomorrow; west to northwest winds will prevail at speeds generally under 30 mph.  Winds will strengthen out of the northwest on Saturday.  Breezy to gusty winds on Sunday will develop across the Sacramento Valley prior to sunrise then spread southward throughout the day reaching 15-25 mph with gusts 40-50 mph possible across the Sacramento Valley and 30-45 mph through the San Joaquin Valley.
