Operations

The Calistoga Police Department is staffed by the Chief of Police, a Lieutenant, two Sergeants and ten Police Officers. One of our officers is assigned to the Calistoga schools as a School Resource Officer (SRO). This position funded jointly by the City of Calistoga, the Calistoga Unified School District and a grant.

The Police Department provides many of the services found in larger agencies. We accomplish this by training all of our staff members in a variety of collateral duties. In addition to their regular duties, each officer and staff member also serves dual roles such as a Bike Patrol Officer, DARE Officer Defensive Tactics Instructor, Field Training Officer or Firearms Instructor to name just a few of our specialties. This philosophy also serves to broaden the level of experience of our officers which results in an effective, efficient and professional law enforcement agency.

Parking enforcement throughout town is handled by team of two Police Technicians. Our Police Technicians are also visible members of the department in the downtown area and provide invaluable service in assisting visitors to our community.

A Community Service Officer (CSO) assists with parking enforcement as well as Code Enforcement and a variety of other duties.-time assignment as a School Resource Officer.
